We had a hugely successful evening as we celebrated Women’s History Month on March 30!

Our three guest speakers, Coach Becky Cramer, the Head Rowing Coach at UCF, Major Denise Demps, the Uniformed Patrol Division Commander of the Orange County Sheriff Crisis Intervention Team at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and LTC Yolanda Frazier, USA (Ret.), System Simulation Training Manager at Florida Hospital’s Medical Simulation and Training Department, along with our Moderator, Angela Alban, President and CEO of SIMETRI, all did a tremendous job of sharing their stories of strength, drive, determination, passion and leadership in their careers.  These women spoke of the difficult decisions they faced, conflicts they managed and obstacles they overcame as they grew in their careers.

This event was an inspiring way of honoring Women’s History Month by shining a light on these four positive forces in our local community.  The event successfully highlighted how far women have come in the workplace.  We are particularly proud of the outcome of this event and look forward to seeing you at our next Women in Defense event!
