February marked the Annual Tech Tour for Women in Defense, Central Florida Chapter. This February, WID CFL had the opportunity to train with VirTra, the official simulator used by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Attendees were able to use the weapons (which were modified for our simulation use) that the Deputy Officers carry and go through real scenarios to train in the life-threatening situations that law enforcement officers encounter occur every day.
The VirTra simulator is a 270 degree stereophonic training area that is manned with a Deputy who personally guides and instructs your training experience and delivers key critical After Action Reviews for every scenario you are dropped into.
A huge thank you to Sheriff Jerry Demings, Director Donoghue, Captain Todd Gardiner, Deputy First Class Julie Junco and Deputy First Class Angela Keller for showing WID CFL a small part of Law Enforcement Training.
Thanks to everyone who joined us, we hope you enjoyed this year’s Tech Tour! Stay tuned for the Women’s History Month Event March 29!
All proceeds go to scholarships for young girls pursuing STEM education.
